anyone got a solution for this one
« on: June 12, 2003, 08:47:04 AM »
I'm sure many of you have seen this .. being that I have seen this on at least 5 machines myself.  I personally do not have this problem, but, a lot of people seem to get this \"message center\" advertisement popup on there computers.  Sometimes up to thirty of them a day.  This occurs when no apps are running but the computer is online via cable modem or dsl.  I have tried to help them with this by running apps like Adaware and the like, but I can't seem to stop it from happening.

If anyone has had experience with removing this annoying popup .. could you please send me a link or a simple explanation of how to get rid of it?  Oh yeah, I noticed a forum page here on \"blocking web ads\".  I'll try that first.

TIA

-mg

Download the new HISTORY KILL 2003 that is the great software for POPUPS
and it cleans the history you made.

Just go to the services admin and turn off the messaging service. Be sure to not only kill it, but to disable it so it doesnt start up next time the computer boots. By default in 2k and xp its set to start at boot.
