I'll assume it's installed correctly, what happens when you try starting it from the command line?

hummm well this is the funny part.

i have had problems with qmail for months, then i though, maybe the wonderful people at the linuxrigs web site could help out.

when i tried to re-create the error message. and it started up just fine.

i guess the monkeys in that system left it and were transfered to another system on the network.

Thanks.

I always try starting a service from the command line if it's giving me problems.  Generally it'll tell you where it's having a problem, you just go to the file in question, fix it, and try again.  I love webmin, but when there's an error starting a program, it's never really more descriptive than \"it failed, you suck.\"
