« on: July 23, 2003, 02:57:51 PM »
i have epox 8rda3+ ( latest bios ) with a barton 2500+
my psu is an antec truecontrol 550pec
when i press the start button the pc can't start
the same thing happened with my old psu ( 340w chieftech ) that's why i changed it with antec
when i use a noname 300w psu the pc works fine
why is that ? do i have to make any changes from bios or it's something else that slips to me ?
please help - i have the motherboard for 10 days and i can't make it work

So you hit the power button and nothing happens? No lights or beep codes?
Nothing to do in the BIOS just make sure the power on self test is enabled.
Don't know what else to say other than check wiring.

Well a few more ideas,

It could be that your power supply has blown a fuse or burnt out completey. If you have a multi meter I'd check to make sure that the posative and negative leads actually have power.

When you plug the power into the motherboard do you hear anything do any fans get a bit of power and spin up for a very short time and then stop?

If it works with the old no name PSU its either going to be the power supply or the motherboard that has the problem.

Hope this helps
