« on: September 10, 2003, 11:16:07 PM »
I just got a new geforce fx 5200   after uninstalling my old video hook my new video card up.  all the updated drivers are installed and direct x 8 and 9 are installed too.  but every time i play a 3d game or switch the settings the monitor goes out like its in suspend mode.  then my computer reboots.  i thought i might have a virus or not enough power so i unhooked my second hard drive and reinstalled my OS.  but I keep getting the same problem is my video card bad???

Maybe. Are U using XP? The 5200 is a cheepo card anyway, you should have got a 9600 Pro, it kills the 5600 Ultra. If using XP config it to blue screen instead of rebooting so you can get a error code to look up. Check event viewer for info at time of crash.
