Connection/Norton Update

Hi, Running Win Me (dont have a go!!) have just tried to run live update on Norton antivirus, have had no problems in the past but last week and this I get connection lost errors at the point were it tries to retrieve latest product information. Have checked that my communication box in Windows setup is ticked so dont think its an FTP prob and as far as am aware my live update settings are correctly configured for a dial up connection. Have run through all of Symantecs trouble-shooting guide but to no avail. Any help/advice greatly appreciated
