I installed a Direct X plug-in the other day for an audio program. I KNOW it is a legit program. However, after I rebooted my comp, several odd things happened. I immediately get the message saying "Windows low on virtual memory, changing the size of the paging file, etc." But when I go into the control panel and try to manually change the size of the paging file it does nothing. The amount allotted stays at 0Mb. Clearly this is an odd problem. I need my computer for school (I'm in college in Boulder) and without it I am doomed. I can hardly run any programs, let alone any fun ones. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I am at a personal loss. Thanks.
I have the same problem unfortunately. The reason mine is screwing up is that the last time I did my windows update it did not complete installing and rebooted for some reason. Try setting it to 0 in control panel, properties advanced, performance options then reboot. In recovery console "copy another-file pagefile.sys" then "del pagefile.sys"
