Aopen CdRW problems
« on: October 19, 2003, 10:14:46 AM »
Hi! I bought an aopencdrw over 3 months ago. At first, it worked great, the models: CRW5224, 52x burn, 24x rewrite 52x read. Ever since a few days ago, whenever i try to burn a cd, it says: Insert empty medium, even though i already have a blank cd in the drive. I tried it with several other blank cds and the result's the same, even with a RW cd, it can't read it. And its gotten worse! It can't even read certain CDs anymore. This is getting frustrating. What's going on? By the way, i use Nero 6 and i got the latest firmware for my burner and i got the latest update for Nero. Thanks, help will be appreciated!

I'm not surprised to hear that with Aopen. They make low end junk. Everthing Aopen I ever bought died fast. All you can do is check the IDE & power connections and maybe try another IDE cable. Check in device manager to see if CDRW is listed.  Try a cd player cleaner. If you need to get another CDRW buy a Plextor.
