This is a component from spyware software your machine DOES NOT NEED!!
If anything it is doing your PC harm by slowing down the performance of IE (Internet Explorer)

What you will need to do is remove certain registry keys to rid yourself of that irritating missing bs3.dll message.

Run regedit

Search for these registry items and remove them.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\clsid\{a85c4a1b-bd36-44e5-a70f-8ec347d9b24f}
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\clsid\{a85c4a1b-bd36-44e5-a70f-8ec347d9b24f}

I also ran a search for bs3.dll and removed this entry which rid me of the missing dll prompt.

Make sure you take measures to backup your registry if you are unsure of what you are doing.

I hope this helps.

    I can't find any CLSID that starts with A85C4. My registry goes straight from A83EF... to A860CE, yet I still get a missing bs3.dll error message. Any suggestions?

    Go into regedit
    and look for this:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

    This should show you what starts up with windows.
    I had scbar.exe,  bsx5.dll, and bs3.dll trying to load. This was after AdAware removed the spyware on my computer.
    Spyware sucks!

    I was unable to get rid of the "BS3.dll" thing through the Registry so I went to "MSconfig" and removed it from my "Startup".  Rebooted and it was gone.

    Yeow.  Read the reply of 22nd November:

    So to clarify his point, this is a component from spyware software.  Your machine DOES NOT NEED IT.  So don't download it and don't put it anywhere.  You don't need it.

    Hope that's clear.

    Cheers,

     If you cannot find the follow reg key to delete:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\clsid\{a85c4a1b-bd36-44e5-a70f-8ec347d9b24f}

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\clsid\{a85c4a1b-bd36-44e5-a70f-8ec347d9b24f}

    then look for this:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

    then just delete: bsx5.dll and bs3.dll

    Then when your sys wont try and load these files. (note do this only after removing the spyware..

    you people just serve to prove bill gate's point about idiots being the reason their machines get hosed by virii and such. it's friggin sad, pay attention to those who are trying to let you know that you DON'T nor WILL EVER NEED these particular annoyances designed to sell your info over the internet, not one of you who doesn't pay attention to the posts telling you how to REMOVE this adware has the right to complain about spam, 'cause you're just contributing to your own demise. To those who really tried to help here, KUDOS, but I fear you time is wasted on moron's.
