nope, not overclocked.  it\'s really starting to piss me off.  what surprises me, is i haven\'t seen one other post from a person who has this problem.  i really don\'t have any idea why i can\'t download and extract a simple file.  maybe the file is actually corrupt?  when was the last time anyone downloaded and used it?  i\'m pretty sure i\'ve downloaded it from at least 5 different sources, but maybe they\'re all just links to the same one.

How are you downloading the file?
If you are using internet explorer try clearing the temporary internet files and redownload the file.
I also recommend using a download manager such as getright.
Mirroring the service pack files doesnt make much sense, so most likely they were all pointing to Micro$oft.

Have you tried using winzip to extract the files?

i haven\'t tried using winzip, i actually don\'t use it, most of the archives i find are rar or ace archives, so i use winace or winrar.  i actually did get the fies to extract, i don\'t know what i did, does having 2 copies of a file make any difference?  i found an old one i had downloaded the other day, in a folder i hadn\'t checked, and it extracted fine. now i\'m just trying to get a good download of win2k pro. the one i was going to use has been sitting on a cheap cd for months, and i can\'t get driver.cab to extract. oh well, found another copy that is going slowly, but i\'ll have it in 6 hours or so. thanks for the suggestions.  i actually had avoided using download managers, because flashget had been giving me a lot of problems with corrupt files, but since the file i want is a zip anyways, and flashget allows fixing of corrupt zips, i may just try that again.  i\'m using getright at the moment but it isn\'t speeding things up any.

All I had to do to solve the start-up problem of L8042pr2.sys, was to unplug the USB logitech mouse and use a normal serial mouse once. Then I installed the latest Mouseware drivers and it works fine now. L8042pr2.sys seems different now (2kb larger).

I had the same problem with L8042pr2.sys with the BOSD.

I did the recovery/repair from the NT CD then console mode and renamed it to L8042pr2Crashed.sys (any name doesn\'t matter).

Credit should be given to  Cub-X as I followed his instruction to fix it.

Thanks, it saved 8 hours + install on a critical machine in our company.

Cub-X: Just want to let you know you saved my system with your solution for BSOD with L8042pr2.sys from back in May. I didn\'t even know this Board existed; I just Googled that module name and up popped your solution. All the experts couldn\'t resolve it, although it admittedly was a little tricky because there is no Logitech mouse on this system. Apparently there once was, and the drivers were never removed.
Everlasting thanks!
