Can we try something please, I wouldn't think that AVG would cause such a slowdown
Not sure about Zone Alarm however

Could you do the following please
=Download RKFiles.zip from the link
http://skads.org/special/rkfiles.zipUNZIP the contents to it's own folder
==Also, Download and Install this small program
to help clean your temp folders, cookies, prefetch, etc...
Windows CleanupGive the link time to load or try it twice, it may be busy
We'll need this later
RESTART your Computer in
SAFE MODEYou can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, after the single post beep, or use the link
I supplied for a more detailed explanation
Open Windows CleanUp!>>START>>programs>>Cleanup!
Click on the CleanUp button, let it finish scanning for files, when it's done
Decline to Log off or Restart the computer
Open the folder you unzipped rkfiles.zip too
Double click to run Rkfiles.bat
Wait for the scan to finish, give this time
When it's done a log will be produced, save this log
By default, it is saved to C:\Log.txt
Restart back to Normal mode and post back the log from Rkfiles.bat
Note: After running Windows CleanUp, the startup may appear to be a bit slower at first, on the next bootup this will improve
This is because it is also cleaning the Prefetch folder, which we want to do, so don't disable that option in CleanUp!
