You should use \"unattend\" script: I worked a bit on it but it\'s harder than I though....

winnt.sif in the i386 folder
you can make your own winnt.sif
from the 2k/xp cd, go to support folder.
extract the files from the deploy.cab
then run setupmanager.
create an unattend installation file.
it will create an unattend.txt with all the answers that you have provided.
rename the unattend.txt to winnt.sif and put it back to the i386 folder, and you will have an autoinstall CD

unattend.txt is the file that NT based os\'s looks for on floppy disks whan an install is starting, winnt.sif is what it looks for in i386

I was able to do all the steps mentioned here to make it auto insert. But when I tested out it did not work. Windows xp was still asking for the serial. Can some one help? by the way I extracted the xp into the hard drive and test it there.

Thanks those who replied. auto insert still does not work for me. I even edited the unattend.bat file to make it point to the unattend.txt but windows setup.exe did not seem to look for either WINNT.SIF or unattend.txt.

This is what I did. Some one please point out what I did wrong. I extract the setupmgr to desktop. Double clicked it to run and answer all questions that I want to make as default during the install. Renamed the generated unattend.text and unattend.bat to WINNT.SIF and WINNT.BAT, respectively and put them in I386 folder. That did not work. Some other time, I just put WINNT.SIF in to the I386 folder without doing anything to the unattend.bat file. And I did try just putting the unattend.txt in I386 also and that did not work either.

I posted the UNATTENDED.TXT file
That is all I did, no unattend.bat or anything else
the only line in my UNATTENDED.TXT is
[UserData]
ProductKey= \"JJWKH-7M9R8-26VM4-FX8CC-GDPD8\"
Make sure your make follow the example to the letter
capital U and D in userdata
capital P and K in Prodcutkey
\" signs in the serail number\"
