1. Can you try uninstalling Symantec's as it is outdated
Reboot afterwards
Symantec uninstalled now...
2. When you installed the Video card, did you disable your onboard video when using? If this applies?
I did disable the onboard, and after removing the new Video card, re-enabled the onboard
3. Under the Boot.ini tab put a tick in
BaseVideo
OK, I did this and as you stated, the appearance changed..No worries..
And everything seemed to work fine...I had Task Mgr running as I was doing things and it would spike anytime I asked the comp to do something, but the % quickly fell back down..This was especially noticeable when starting IE...
And then, as you said, I went back to config and when I went to uncheck the base box, it was already empty...
I selected normal start and rebooted, back to normal view, and it is dragging it's butt again...Spiked at 100% most of the time with the biggest culprit being EXPLORER.EXE.. One other thing I did notice, is that when I ask the comp to do something, most times the icons on the desktop disappear and have to rebuild themselves, ever so slowly...
I have removed (??) all the symantec items via the add/remove options, but I still see some there in the log...Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1
