Does anyone out there know if you can download Internet Explorer full to a disk for installation on a remote computer?

Another method that works is at this link:
http://www.broomeman.com/support/wsiedown.html

Summary: Download ie6setup.exe and save it to, for example, C:Download and then go to start | run and type this:

\"C:downloadie6setup.exe\" /c:\"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:\"\"#E\"

The IEAK is nice too, but you may not want to install it on your machine, so this option works but without the customization benefit.

I\'ve been using that command line option as stated in http://support.microsoft.com/directory/art...;EN-US;Q257249&  for 2 years now, and it has never failed me.

I run win2k on all my systems, but that download technique even lets you download IE\'s setup files for win9x/winxp/NT4/2000, all in one go.

If you use Win98 or WinNT, you can go into the advanced options and tell it to down load to any directory you indicate.  You can then select what OS\'s you want to download.  I would select all OS\'s that you might encounter, so you don\'t have to download them again.

If you try and download IE6 from a 2k box, it won\'t give you that option.  Goto download.microsoft.com.

The c:downloadie6setup.exe /c:\"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:\"\"#E\" trick works just fine on every OS, including 2000, but here is the catch:
The real FULL Internet Explorer 6.0 kit has 75 cabs and can be downloaded only through IEAK. Using the command line above you get only 59 cabs (even with the option to download the files for all 4 os\'es: 98/2000/nt4/xp). Don\'t ask me why, dunno, but it\'s the truth (just try and see for yourself).

Regards,
Victor Chirita.

Ok ive run into a problem where i need to ahve ie5.5 or higher...so i figure i will get ie6. I download the IEAK and it asks\' for things im not sure about. LIke license agreement..??? what if you dont have one. The manager wont let me download it because i have no corp. license agreement. i can use the wizard but the \"C:Windows Update Setup Filesie5setup.exe\" /c:\"ie5wzd.exe /d /s:\"\"#E\"
 don\'t work.

what do i have to do in IEAK. ive never used it and it seems confusing on what i have to download to get it. The wizard ask\'s for all sorts of options i can choose to download but none say ie6. what am i to due?

the command line \"C:Windows Update Setup Filesie5setup.exe\" /c:\"ie5wzd.exe /d /s:\"\"#E\"
in my win2k WON\'T work at all...it just open\'s the setup .exe that is less than a mb.

How to install IEAK6 depends on what you want to do. If what you want is a single folder, Install as Corporate version (last option). When running IEAK at the \"Media Selection\" choose \"Flat\". For more info check http://www.tech-hints.com/ie.html#1

Thanks a million for the \"C:downloadie6setup.exe\" /c:\"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:\"\"#E\"
trick. I swear Microsoft seems to have no clue that there are people who actually build PCs for other people. I\'ve been tearing my hair out all day, you rock, never change.

Thank you so much! It worked for me, and I now have IE6 loading on several internal PCs without having to connect to the Microsoft Site via the internet.

The full download would be 104 mb. It would be better to purchase it from Microsoft for $5.30 (shipping fee).
