Well it works from here, so the problem is somewhere else if you can't connect from work.

Your dl shouldn't totally affect my speed on dling the webpage as its uses your ul speed when sending me the page.....which may just be really slow.

I'm using SuSE Linux 8.1 pro right now (that I just installed on my other computer  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> ) costed me 80 bucks for that linux box, i was trying to convince myself it's worth it, that's why i headed up to grab it http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />
and also it's becuz I couldn't find it anywhere else that has SuSE 8.1 pro available for download.. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />   anyways, I feel happy with what I bought http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

it seems like everyone here prefers Mandrake and RH  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />
I heard that they all have the same kernal 2.4x something...
if mandrake/RH's really better, i might wanna install it on another harddrive and try  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

why is it good at anyways  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' /> ?

As you will realize when you start using different distros of linux or unix, they all have their own way of doing things. RH handles things a little different from Mandrake etc...

They all use the same Linux Kernel, but its almost like how Win9x/ME/2k/NT/XP are all pretty similar, but things are done a little differently on all of them. I just did a RH 8.0 install and I think its beautfiul...but I still have to check out Mandrake 9.0 and see which one I like better.

Long time no post.  Glad to hear you got it all working.  Been busy here, finally got my MythTV box working the way I like, and just installed Mandrake 9.1 on my two main systems.

Hi,

I used to host my own site. I used xampp-lite to control.
It features Apache, MySQL, PhpMyAdmin and other goodies.
But since it took soo much bandwidth, and other net resources, i decided to move to a real host. If you want a cheap host, then i recommend T-Max hosting.
You'll have registrer a domain though... If you want more information on that point please pm me, k ?
